Magpies return for pre-season training

Wednesday, July 01, 2009, 14:13

NOTTS County today returned to pre-season training.

The players were given body-fat tests upon reporting back to Meadow Lane before doing a 30-minute jog in Wollaton Park.

New signings Ricky Ravenhill, Neal Bishop, Craig Westcarr, Graeme Lee and on-loan Forest defender Brendan Moloney joined their new team-mates for the first time.

Ravenhill has been given the number eight shirt, Bishop was wearing ten, Maloney No.2, Westcarr No.20 and Lee No.5.

Delroy Facey was missing because he is on international duty with Grenada in America.

Adam Nowland trained with the squad, despite being released at the end of last season.

The midfielder underwent a back operation in the summer and boss Ian McParland said the club are helping him with his rehabilitation.

Defender John Curtis was also with the squad.

He spent a lot of last season training with the Magpies.

"I said he could train with us again but that's it, we've got a right-back," said McParland.

"Adam has had his operation and we want to help him out."
